  2. A careful look

We check your teeth, gums and bite, and take x-rays or a scan only if we need them.

  3. We talk through your options

Including what happens if you wait or do nothing.

  4. A clear plan before anything begins

You’ll know the steps, the number of visits and the cost before treatment starts.

Training you can trust

A Prosthodontist designs the finished result first, then works backwards to reach it. That is the reason not to wait for a problem. Start with the specialist, and every checkup, filling and crown is planned toward the smile you want to keep.

The extra training behind your care

Many dentists offer implants and cosmetic work, and for a lot of everyday treatment a good general dentist is all you need. A Prosthodontist spends three more years training in one thing: restoring and replacing teeth so they look natural and last.

  1. General dentist 4 years

Four years of dental school. Looks after the whole mouth: cleanings, fillings, crowns and extractions.

  2. Prosthodontist 4 + 3 years

Three more years of specialist training in replacing and rebuilding teeth. Prosthodontics is one of twelve recognized dental specialties.

  3. Board-certified Prosthodontist 4 + 3 years + boards

A four-part exam set by the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Lal completed his between 2002 and 2006; most Prosthodontists never take it.

    Dr. Lal

It is a small group. Of the more than 200,000 dentists in the U.S., about 3,500 are Prosthodontists, fewer than 2 in every 100. Only about 1,100 are board certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics, roughly 1 in every 200 dentists.

Dr. Lal is one of them, and he takes the same care over a quick checkup as he does over a whole new smile.
